meteocontrol GmbH has enlarged its management team. In doing so, the company has also taken another decisive step in its international growth strategy. Chris Liu recently joined Managing Directors Martin Schneider and Robert Pfatischer on the team to foster business development in Asia. Stefan Rensberg, Head of Product Management, has been given general commercial power of representation in an attempt to adapt meteocontrol’s management team structures to the company’s growth.
The success of meteocontrol, a specialist for monitoring and control systems for photovoltaic systems, is based on more than 40 years of experience and on Managing Directors who remain focused on the signs of the time. Since the company was founded, Martin Schneider and Robert Pfatischer have turned it into an international operation that employs more than 180 people around the world. To generate new momentum in the company’s Asian business, the two executives added an experienced manager to the team on November 1 in Chris Liu. Liu holds a Master’s of International Business and Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics and has many years of experience in the PV industry. Before joining the company, he served as Senior Director at Lightway Deutschland GmbH, where he oversaw sales operations.
“With the hiring of Chris Liu, we have bolstered our management team and added an experienced colleague who will use his knowledge in sales and international project coordination to generate new business momentum,” Martin Schneider said. “By taking this step, we are advancing our international growth strategy.” Robert Pfatischer expands on that, saying: “We are really glad that we will now be able to jointly enter new business fields in Asia and to more systematically tap this potential by applying our newly acquired expertise.”
Power of representation bolsters expertise
To adapt management structures to the company’s continuous growth, Stefan Rensberg has been given general commercial power of representation. The college-trained engineer has played a major role in the success of the VCOM Cloud monitoring portal since 2005. Over the past five years, he has served as the Head of Product Management and overseen the core products of meteocontrol VCOM Cloud Cloud and blue’Log XM/XC. During the appointment to register the general commercial power of representation, the Managing Directors underscored the significance of this step: “The issuance of the power of representation reflects the high level of trust that we have in the abilities and know-how of Stefan Rensberg. He has comprehensive knowledge and many years of experience in development, product management and marketing. By transferring this significant responsibility to him, we are strengthening meteocontrol and setting our sights on more growth.”
